The MRCOG Part 3 Exam represents the final phase of the MRCOG qualification process. It evaluates candidates’ clinical skills and ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
This stage emphasises key areas such as communication, patient safety, ethics, clinical management, and decision-making. It is conducted through an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) format.
Exam Eligibility
To be eligible for the MRCOG Part 3 exam, candidates must have successfully passed the MRCOG Part 2 examination and received approval for their Assessment of Training (AoT). The AoT application can be submitted at any time and does not require candidates to wait for their Part 2 result.
Exam Format
The MRCOG Part 3 Exam comprises of 14 stations covering patient tasks, colleague tasks, and structured discussions. The candidate will be assessed on 6 core competencies which are:

- Communication with Colleagues
- Information Gathering
- Applied Clinical Knowledge
- Professionalism
