Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP)

The exam assesses a candidate’s knowledge, understanding, and clinical decision-making skills at the level expected for starting core specialist training. The Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) section focuses on testing theoretical knowledge and the candidate’s ability to apply it in real clinical situations, helping them prepare for more advanced paediatric practice.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must have completed the FOP and TAS exams to be eligible for the AKP.

Structure

Two exams, each lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes, are taken on the same day.

Content

AKP focuses on diagnosing complex cases, making treatment decisions, and analyzing clinical scenarios to determine the best management approach.
