MRCP Part 1 Exam

The MRCP Part 1 exam is the first step in obtaining membership in the Royal College of Physicians. It is a dream qualification for doctors who focus on internal medicine. Exam Requirements

To be eligible for the MRCP Part 1 exam, candidates must have a recognized medical degree and a minimum of 12 months of postgraduate medical experience. This requirement ensures that candidates have gained foundational clinical experience before taking the exam.

Exam Format

One-day exam consisting of two three-hour papers, each with 100 multiple-choice (best of five) questions.

Each question provides five options, with one being the correct answer and four as alternatives.

The four alternatives are closely related but less accurate, serving as plausible distractors.

Every correct response is awarded one mark, with no negative marking applied.
