MRCP PACES
MRCP PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) is the last component of the MRCP exam. It evaluates your capability to assess patients, in real-life situations through emphasizing diagnosis, communication, and patient management. Successfully clearing PACES is crucial for the progress in your medical career.
To be eligible for MRCP PACES, you must have successfully passed both MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 written exams.
In MRCP(UK) PACES, candidates are tested on seven key clinical skills that reflect real-world practice. These include carrying out a proper physical examination, spotting and describing important clinical signs, and showing clear, empathetic communication. Candidates must also provide a safe differential diagnosis, apply strong clinical judgement, respond to patients’ concerns, and always protect patient welfare. Together, these skills show examiners that the candidate is ready to move forward in specialist training
